The following programs offered by Iredell-Statesville Schools enhance the course offerings and college preparedness options available to your child.
International Baccalaureate Program
Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year, Iredell-Statesville Schools will offer the International Baccalaureate curriculum to students in grades 6-9. Teacher recommendations, EOG scores, report cards, and parent and student statements will all be used to determine a student's eligibility. Transportation will be provided from the student's traditional school to the southern IB Program site, Mt. Mourne Elementary in Mooresville. Students may participate in the extra-curricular offerings at their traditional school in addition to the IB Program. Additional grades will be added to the program in coming academic years.
North Carolina Virtual Public School
Open to both middle and high school students, the North Carolina Virtual Public School (VPS) enables students to complete both core and elective courses using a convenient, online format. The VPS not only offers general core classes, but also a wide range of honors, Advanced Placement and SAT prep courses. Courses can be taken in the school setting or even from home.
