- Iredell
County Parks & Recreation sponsors adult and youth athletics, summer
camps, and events.
This department of the county government also operates Stumpy
Creek Park and the Outdoor
Education Center.
- Mooresville
Parks & Recreation Department operates out of the War
Memorial and Winnie L. Hooper Community Center and offers year-round
programs for youth and adults. The War Memorial also houses various
civic groups and community classes. There are nine parks that
include facilities such as tennis courts, outdoor basketball
courts, lighted ball fields and a gym for volleyball, badmittion
and basketball. A wide variety of classes for youth and adults
in athletics,
creative arts and fitness are also available.
- YMCA Iredell has
2 branches: one in Barium Springs - less than 5 miles from Falls
Cove - and the other in Statesville. Both facilities have indoor
pools, and an outdoor pool with splash and spray features operates
during the summer at Barium Springs. Athletics, health and fitness
programs and a variety of events are offered.
- Statesville
Parks & Recreation - has a calendar of events that includes
athletics and other community events.
