Mission Statement:
“The mission of Troutman Middle School is to provide a positive and rigorous learning environment. Through quality teaching and teamwork, we will challenge all students to meet their academic potential.”
Highlights:
- Average of 19 students per classroom.
- 100% of classrooms connected to the Internet and an average of 1 instructional computer for every 2 students.
- One of only three schools recognized for the 2008 N.C. School Innovation Day.
- Since last year, Troutman Middle School has used a $54,000 grant to purchase many high-tech tools for the classroom, including SMART Boards, document cameras and Quizdom® devices. Students have access to 3 computer labs and a new, mobile wireless lab.
- AIG (Academic or Intellectually Gifted) course offerings .
- Discovery classes are offered during school and include robotics, band, Spanish and chorus. After school, students participate in book club, Odyssey of the Mind, dance troupe and WTMS (television broadcast).
- Student Council Service Club and Honor Chorus are available for honors students.
- Students can participate in football, volleyball, basketball, cross country, wrestling and girls’ soccer.
- The school has tennis courts on the school grounds from a partnership with the Town of Troutman.
