Troutman Schools

Falls Cove is served by the award-winning Iredell-Statesville school system, which includes Troutman Elementary School, Troutman Middle School and South Iredell High School.

  • The Iredell-Statesville school system (ISS) ranks in the top 20 for North Carolina school systems. The school system’s SAT scores rank 10th in the state, and are above both regional and national averages.
  • ISS is a national leader among school systems with its use of virtual and online courses, such as Troutman Middle School’s Nova Net. ISS is also leading North Carolina school systems in the use of online learning. Lowe’s Education Foundation recognized ISS’s attempts at bringing classrooms into the 21st century and provided a $250,000 grant for classroom technology.
  • ISS was the first large school system in the nation to use microwave technology, leading to significant increases in bandwidth across the school system. The faster bandwidth allows more students to access the Web at one time, and provides faster Internet connections in the classrooms.
  • The Iredell-Statesville school system has partnered with the Iredell County Commission on two phases of school construction to prepare for the county’s estimated growth. More than 891,000 square feet have been added to Iredell County schools since 2002.

A wide array of excellent private schools, as well as Davidson College, Queens College, Central Piedmont Community College, Wake Forest University, Johnson C. Smith University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, are just a short drive away.
